Text messages from Valeh

Valeh sends you a text when you check an item into a valet. Here is what that means.

How your number is collected

When you hand your item to a valet worker, they ask for your mobile number so they can send you your retrieval ticket. The message is your ticket. Without it you have nothing to show at pickup.

You give your number to the worker in person, at the counter. Valeh does not collect numbers through this website, and no one is added to a list for anything else.

What the worker sees when they ask

The worker asks for your number on a screen that shows them what to tell you. This is that screen.

Valeh check-in screen on a worker's phone, showing a phone number field and the wording the worker reads aloud to the customer.

"You'll receive a text with your ticket for this item.

You may also receive a reminder if it isn't collected before we close, and a confirmation when it's returned. Usually 2 to 3 messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out."

The screen also shows the worker links to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

What you will receive

  • Your ticket One message when you check your item in, containing the QR code you show at pickup.
  • A reminder If you have not collected your item before the service closes.
  • A confirmation When your item is returned to you.

That is usually 2 to 3 messages per item you check in. You are messaged only about an item you handed over. If the organization running the valet stops trading, you may receive one further notice about collecting your item.

Stopping messages

Message and data rates may apply.

Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

The first message you receive includes these instructions. You can reply STOP to any Valeh message at any time, whether or not that message repeats them.

STOP is not limited to one ticket or one event. It stops all Valeh text messages to your number, at every organization using Valeh, until you text START to the same number.

If you stop messages you will not receive tickets for items you check in later, so you will have no ticket to show at pickup.

Your number and your privacy

Your mobile number is used to send you the messages described above. Valeh does not sell or rent mobile numbers, and does not share them with third parties for marketing.

Full detail on what is collected, who processes it, and how long it is kept is in the Privacy Policy. The terms covering use of the service are in the Terms of Service.
